Chris Beek is a true product of what shed happens is all about. He had the courage to come along to spill his guts when he knew he was in a safe place. He helped heal many with the sharing of his battle. Chris has been a regular at Better Blokes over the years and was the main cook at Murrumba Downs for a few seasons. Chris was loved into a Christian family and plays drums on his roster at church, all to God's glory.
He has been a trade teacher but needed to get that important piece of paper to substantiate his position. He has been stepping up for the past 3 years and has finally nailed it with his BA in Education. He also helps out another champion at Beenleigh with his reading and writing.
Well done and congratulations from the team at Shed Happens. Darryl
To all you champions
You know as well as I do that the busyness of life gets well beyopnd our control sometimes and especially around Christmas and it is not hard to get tied up in it all. However as Henri Nouwen puts it in his book 'Can You Drink The Cup" with busyness there is rest , with sadness there is joy, and all this in the same cup of life. So I put it to youi myu brothers as in the following post, may God give you all rest,…Continue
Naked. Yes, that is how Jim was when I met him in Brisbane on Christmas Day 1985 as he was peering over a toilet door. All he had on was a black leather hat and studded leather belt. Hot and humid as it was, he was not exactly dressed for Christmas dinner.
En route to collect someone for Christmas dinner, I’d called into the local ‘beat’ – a homosexual pick-up area – to see who was around. Jim, out ‘cruising’, was no different…

We rely on rain water here. No mains water. Since we moved into our new home in october I still haven't hooked our storm water pipes up to our tanks.
Finally got to it this past weekend. Today it's rained! Had 7mm to date and still raining.
We were down to about 22000 liters. Today we've caught about 18000 liters.

Greetings from San Clemente,
Well, it’s been a most eventful vacation this visit. The accommodations were the same as last visit which was two and a half years ago. A good friend, Jonathon, from Bellflower put up with me at his condominium plus the use of a vehicle was such a blessing.
I arrived here in Southern California on the 4th (Tuesday) and that Sunday (the 9th) I had the pleasure of…Continue
Do I have your attention now with a heading like that?

Blessings to all you champions

Last night we finished up for our 8th year with shed happens number 86. That's not a bad record.
We had a couple of the blokes give us an update on where they were at including one of our champions who is currently in limbo waiting for treatment on a tumour in his chest associated with non Hodgkins Lymphona.
Nellis is from South Africa and works at the Rice Mill in Deniliquin. He has shared his story previously. Because he is on a 457 Visa awaiting his…Continue
