About Toowoomba Shed.

Ian Watto, Mark G, and I went there last Saturday, 16/04/2011. on invitation of the Lutheran Men of the Toowoomba area, which is a 2 hour drive from Brisbane(for the uninitiated) and it was a very cheerful event, more like bring a dish and share, but fresh steak and bangers on the barby as well.

Otto from the MD Shed was there already, before leaving for Kakadoo NP and to my surprise I knew at least 4 of the men there from previous encounters.

Mark G 'Grieshaber' was the first to tell his story of growing up in Toowoomba and then finding jobs elsewhere, always by Gods Guidance. It was good to hear this Champions Story, who by the way, has thousands of friends.

He was happy to see his dad among the men.

Then Ian asked me to sing 'How deep the Fathers love for us' in German, which

kind of went well, seeing it was raining on and off and was 'a capella'. I repeated the last verse in English, so the men could sing it with me.

Then I had to tell some of my 'life story' and Ian said that seemed ok, because I did not answer any of his questions.

Otto was the last Champion to tell his story of growing up in Victoria in the Lutheran Church and how he is involved in Shed here in Queensland now.

He is b.t.w. one of the most active organisers in the Murrumba Shed.

Then there were more photo opportunities, one of them the men in red, which is kind of a bold statement and very outstanding.

A short demo of Ian's toy truck was a point of interest sometime during the evening.

Thanks to the Champions for organising this shednight.

The mens feedback to me was very positive.

Thanks to Kevin too for opening his shed for this event. (he had to move his old holden car out on the grass to make room for us)

Thanks also to the ladies, who provided the lovely mix of salads and sauces.

That was almost Silver Service in Plastic compared to Murrumba Downs Shed.

We 3 felt Gods blessing with us on the way back to Brisbane.

Hi to Charlton Jeisman and the others for praying with me and over me at Better Blokes this year,

Visiting the Canberra Region for the men's conference was showing me a new side to myself,

hidden mainly due to me living in Brisbane for the last 42 years.

Brisbane very rarely has frosts in winter, which is probably the reason why my lower limbs don't hurt,

even though we do get the westerly winds and cold spells to as low as +3C in August.

In 2004 my…

Hi Champions,

I have just placed something like 31 videophotos into the site and some of the end is missing, because I ran out of tape.

Whatever is there to see is propably fine and some other blokes had cameras with them, who might fill you in on the rest of a lovely 2 hours in the morning.

I have placed them back to front, so that you can safely start with the cars and continue with a rolling kind of progress.

It might be handy to know for someone else,…

July 4 Shednight Murrumba Downs.

Hi Champions, where-ever you are.

What a great night we had. For some it was all too short.

About 30 or so blokes came tonight for the first time and they were from allover the Brisbane area.

In the photos, which I have placed in situ a few moments ago, all first timers are standing up to tell us one after the other where they came from.

The food was great as usual and that goes for those of us who did not come a bit later, when the steaks ran…

Thanks for the photos Dieter. They paint a picture of the night even without a story. Darryl

Thanks Dieter. Yes I am going to Better Blokes so if you bring the info along with you I will get it then. I went to Sydney last weekend and saw my mother. Her hip has healed really well and she also seems to be more settled now in the nursing home. It was a good visit and only tears of joy from her. Darryl

Gidday Dieter. Thanks for the photos mate. We didn't get a report from last Monday's shednight but your photos just about tell the story. Good to see a few familiar faces as I scrolled through the photos as well. Darryl
