I have just read Darryl's blog on a real tough issue with money and small business. I would agree that this year has been my toughest as a small business to. In the past I have often wondered how families could get so far behind paying the bills and what it is like to live from week to week. Well I don’t have to wonder any more. The stress that comes with financial problems is more real to me than ever, but the good news is that God does His best work when we no longer have the answers. Like most blokes I recon I try to solve my own problems and have kind of used God as my personal slave or get out of jail free card, if you know what I mean.
During this challenge God has shown me a better way and taken me to a deeper faith. I have not heard any profound revelation or a unmistakable God message just the truth that we are here for one reason and that is to give God praise and glory in all I do. The truth is that this is easy when all is going great, the test is, are we fairdinkim and are we prepared to get our priorities right, and seek God with all our might or give up.
I have much to learn about the mind of God but I have tried to stop second guessing Him and I seek His plan for my family and I by reading what He is like and how He works, I read His word and share it with whoever is prepared to listen and share their discoveries with me.
I thank Darryl and Watto for starting this blog as this is just the kind of stuff that can trip us up if we try to fix our problems without the bloke that has a plan for each one of us. Question is are we ready for the climb up the mountain to get a look at the view God has in store for us or do we want the easy way out that makes us fat and lazy.
My son and I are also looking forward to Better Blokes camp and we to wondered if we could afford to make the trip, I recon we couldn’t afford not to. Iron sharpens iron.
