Proverbs 13.20

Posted on June 22, 2013 at 8:33 2 Comments

Got This On my app This Morning. Proverbs 13:20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

Get good blokes around you, and grow and learn together. Good lesson. But we may need to be that wise man for someone who is deep in it. We can be the one who helps turn it around for a man in need. Plenty in this verse. Have a ripper day

Luke 5:17b And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick.

Hey men, one more indicator that Jesus was human. He didn't just walk about healing everyone he came into contact with. He had to be right with the Lord before the power of the Almighty was manifest in him. How did that come about? Go back a verse to v16: But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

When he got close to the father, when he got intentional about his relationship with the Creator, then the Spirit came upon him and he could heal with .words(v20-24).

How are you… Continue

I started a new job in a mine site awhile ago, and feel like a bit of a stranger in the crew at the moment. The newby. Tonight I was reading  1Peter1:17b  live your life as strangers here in reverent fear. We are strangers in this world. We know it's not our home, but I'm not doing the reverent fear bit very well. In fact I find myself trying hard to fit into their world to gain acceptance. But that won't work, because it makes me a fraud, and they will see through that pretty quickly. But…

Don't know where Halbury is? Thats alright. Neither did I til this w/e when 250 odd blokes of all shapes and sizes turned up there to swag it for the w/e and share in some stories from the heart, and some brilliant life lessons from ordinary blokes. Some local girls spoilt us with top tucker, and we didn't even have to wash! It doesn't get too much better I can tell you, than when men set aside time to share, grow, and heal each other. I just want to encourage all those blokes who got a massive… Continue

Thanks for the feedback, Champion Tim.

I have just finished writing a blog about our shednight and placed the photos with it.

I thought I will try placing them from the higher numbers down, so they can be viewed in the right order(from the start.)

You are right about being closer to God if you are closer to other supporting men.

I found that out as a young 7 y.o. lad, when my parents split up and for a while there was no other man in my life, till mum remarried, when I was 13.

Things can be worked out much easier with someone male around.

I didn't know how much I missed my stepdad, till I came to Australia aged 24.

Maybe I should have written appreciated, but you'll get my drift.

But that is why I appreciate Shednights now later in life, when I can be a kind of stepdad to someone else with a problem.

You would have loved our shednight on what is now last night, because it is 01.45 AM.

It had a BB's touch to it, without being overbearing.

God bless,  Dieter

Good to hear from you even though you addressed Luke W, Champion Tim.

You are in my heart like my own brother, because I was deeply touched by you telling your testimony at BB's.

How are things with you?

God bless,   Dieter

I meant to write 2000 Characters, Tim.

Hi Champion Tim, read my other entry first. They let you print just characters here, so I cut my thing in half.

During the past two weeks I received emails from bui blokes and phonecalls too, which have been very supporting to me and on the one day per week I go to work now I have told so much of the positive things happening at BB's and Canberra during the stay of us 9 SE Queenslanders, who flew there. I have forgotten, what Dion said in the statistic, but I counted 14 QLD's myself at BB's.

I guess, you had a look at the photos I've placed of the camp and they are now on page 3 under Photos. There are still more to come, but the colds slow things down a bit for me.

Let me know how things are for you and you can use my e-address in the printout if you like.

God bless for now,  Dieter

Hi Tim,

I was encouraged by the comment you've made to Kimball and Chris.

You seemed to know more than I did till I met Kimball again Thursday.

How is it for you after  bui. Did you notice any day by day changes?

Thanks for sharing your thingo at the camp. It was a great testimony to me how the power of the word works in the life of blokes like you and I.

At my place, bar from my daughter, all are sick from all this coughing, which is doing the rounds here in Brisbane.

You've mentioned in an entry something about the format of the shed in your area,?size.

We found it is best to be inclusive of anyone coming along, whatever denomination a champion belongs to, without religious overtones.

Some of the blokes being interviewed say they are not sure where their faith lies, but we(the interviewers) leave it to God to find them and we(all blokes) listen just to the story they have to tell at that moment.

Ian Watson has a lot of friends in diverse places, which is helpful to find champions, who want to share their life-story with others and I for one appreciate if a shire councilor or other leading bloke tells his story. It adds a different dimension for me as a listener. Everyone started of as a baby, but not everyone was fed with a golden spoon, if you get my drift.
